Message for families

Dear students and families,

We are pleased to welcome guest speaker Tyler Smith to our school to present to all of our students. 

Tyler, winner of The Amazing Race Canada Season 9, is a survivor of the 2018 Humboldt Broncos bus crash that claimed the lives of 16 teammates, staff, and coaches. He is the founder of Not Alone Co., a mental health awareness clothing line dedicated to facilitating conversations around trauma, PTSD, and mental health. Tyler co-hosts the podcast Speak Your Mind with NHL veteran Riley Sheahan, normalizing discussions about mental health with guests from sports, entertainment, and beyond. Through public speaking and advocacy, Tyler inspires individuals and communities to embrace vulnerability, build connections, and create safe spaces for healing and hope (Tyler Smith website).

Tyler will be presenting to our students on March 4th, 9:00am

This opportunity has been made available to all high school students in Huron & Perth Counties, in part through the Proceeds of Crime-School Safety Grants (Goderich & Central Huron).

AMDSB Mental Health and Well-being counsellors will be at the school during this time should any student require support. If a student will not be attending, please report their absence as usual.
