Summer School

The Avon Maitland District School Board provides an opportunity for students to complete a secondary school
credit over four weeks during the summer or complete cooperative education credits over five weeks. We offer
several summer school programming options to meet the diverse needs and interests of secondary school
students. Students may only be registered in one course during the AMDSB summer school session.

New Credit courses (110 h) are available to students who have not previously taken the course or did not complete it and therefore do not have a final mark.

Credit Recovery courses (55 h) are designed for AMDSB students who have taken the compulsory course previously, but did not obtain a passing grade on their final report and were recommended by their home school principal for the program.

Cooperative Education courses are only available to AMDSB students. Students must apply to this 2-credit summer Cooperative Education program (200-220 hours). Please review the mandatory program dates and selection process in this document.

Dual Credit courses (45 h over 10 days) are only available to AMDSB students. Students must apply to enrol in these college or apprenticeship courses that count toward both their OSSD and a postsecondary certificate, diploma, degree, or a Certificate of Apprenticeship.
